• Designing and planning long haul WDM platforms
• Being the single point of responsibility for the global design teams to manage, agree and address transport design, technologies and suppliers
• Supporting Network Planning & Design Managers in determining medium and long-term network evolution.
• Issuing long haul WDM projects consistently with the yearly network programme within budget targets, its budget targets, its undertakings/deliverables and consistently with special bids which may occur
• Acting as an internal technical advisor, giving feedback to managers on issues of wider network and system relevance
• Contributing to the technological innovations using personal knowledge and expertise
• Defining and issuing transport reports measuring network usage
• Comply with the processes prescribed being able to engage and take the vendor of the equipment committed in defining, validating, launching and adjusting a project along its life until its completion

Required experience and skills:

• Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or an equivalent degree
• Fluent English
• Deep knowledge of Huawei DWDM equipment (Optix OSN8800, Optix OSN1800)
• Knowledge of the main technologies and functionalities carried on WDM such as: OTN hierarchy, Ethernet mapping, fibre channel, alien lambda, etc
• At least 5 years in an equivalent role; a must is demonstrable experience in design and plan a DWDM link.
• Experience with the following systems: IMS, OMS, Classic, Cocon, Connect Master, Smallworld, Stargate

On Huawei WDM technology you should be able to prepare and issue the following documentation:
• High level design
• Low level design
• Bill of materials with related economical figures consistently with the current pricelists and frame agreements

On Huawei WDM technology you should be able to prepare and fill the DBs and Systems with:
• Equipment layouts
• Circuits layouts
• Workflows
• Tasks
