Network Planning & Design Professional (Modelling) (TN-7998)
• Assist in ensuring the transport network has the capacity needed to support traffic related to the different service platforms (IP/MPLS, Voice, Media & broadcast, GB&FM …)
• Assist in ensuring the transport network has the level of reliability required by all carried services
• Liaise with internal customers & Stakeholders to obtain and understand all forecast requirements needed to develop and maintain the transport consolidated forecast
• Liaise with access capacity modelling to obtain and understand all requirements related to interfacing with the access network
• Receive and analyse traffic requirements related to each service platform and to special projects
• Receive and analyse the transport network SLAs required by carried services
to define the corresponding resilience rules
• Support the roadmap build and network strategy
• Assist in Developing the transport layer programme out to a 18 month timeframe with updates every 6 months (BRF), by defining:
• Transport network upgrade/expansion initiatives
• budgetary forecast of CAPEX and OPEX
• utilisation thresholds
• the appropriate resilience rules to support carried services
• buy-and-build trade-offs
• Identify and plan efficiencies and related cost savings programs
• Relationship with vendors and Network solution (keeping up-to-date with technology) Attend relevant Technical Working Group forums
• Maintain and develop a Network cost model with appropriate Finance teams Report as per agreed schedule on network domain utilization to enable cost allocations to be assigned by appropriate financial teams
• Develop Inventory Reports to analyze all Circuit deployed over the Network considering all Bandwidths, the different Service Platforms and also the Network platform like Core, Backhaul, Access, In-house and CFN. Those KPI are essential for Business Case Build and budget approval.
• Develop Inventry reports and build the access traffic Forecast
• The role holder may act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all network related topics and issues within a country, representing Design at in-country boards, regulatory bodies and Works Council
• To meet all quality standards prescribed for the unit and seek opportunities to improve the processes and procedures in order to reduce cost and improve quality.
Required experience and skills:
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Commercial and financial awareness is an advantage
• Detailed understanding of DWDM and SDH technologies is essential
• Detailed understanding of MPLS & Ethernet technologies would be an advantage
• An understanding of the emerging technology of Software defined networking would be an advantage
